End the cycle of prison and homelessness
Nacro's campaign to stop people being released from prison into homelessness #CellStreetRepeat
We know that people become homeless for many different reasons. This includes relationship breakdown, mental health or substance misuse problems, unemployment, abuse, poverty or a lack of affordable housing.
Many women experiencing homelessness have escaped abusive relationships and people can be forced into homelessness when they leave the armed forces, care or prison. It can be devastating.
We understand that everyoneβs experience is different, so we take a personalised approach and build on peopleβs strengths. We have extensive experience housing and supporting young people and those leaving care, women, ex-service personnel and people leaving prison.
We run a range of services to help prevent people becoming homeless, and support those who have experienced homelessness to build a pathway towards independence.
Our floating support services help people to manage their homes, live independently and prevent homelessness. Visit Our work in housing to find out more.
Our supported housing services across England and Wales specialise in working with young people and those leaving care, women, ex-service personnel and people leaving prison. Visit Our work in housing to find out more.
Our accommodation service supports people under probation supervision to either maintain the accommodation they have or find new accommodation to prevent homelessness. Itβs commissioned by the Probation Service in South Yorkshire, East Midlands, West Midlands and North Wales. Visit Our justice services to find out more.
You can find a full list of our services through our Service Finder.
Steve was sleeping rough before coming to Nacro. He’s in a much more stable place now and is looking to the future.
Our housing service helps people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless to find housing and start to rebuild their lives.
The service focuses on helping people find stable housing through private landlords. We help to breakdown the barriers to the private rental sector by sourcing deposits, securing rent in advance, and organising furniture for people’s new homes.
Alongside the services we run we also undertake research and campaign for change on homelessness.
