On GCSE results day, Nacro reaches out to young people who want to choose a different educational path
We congratulate all young people celebrating their educational achievements today. Nacro learners have achieved outstanding results in 2016, contributing to our best year ever across our vocational education centres. (Nacro education services are rated 4% above the DfE National Provider benchmark. Nacro learners are improving at an accelerated rate year on year.)
Nacro’s education service, rated ‘Good’ (grade 2) by Ofsted, is different from mainstream education because it offers young people alternative, practical, high quality educational routes which equip them with a range of qualifications, work experience and new-found confidence.
It is vital that all young people, whatever their GCSE result, are able to make well-informed decisions about what happens after school. After receiving their results today, there will be some young people who will be unsure about what to do next. We offer a different and wider choice of qualifications, work experience and support, than those that are traditionally offered at school or college. This can be the critical difference between thriving and realising a new found skill, to dropping out and ending up Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET).
Nacro operates across England and Wales, and we are ready, today, to help young people take the next step towards a different and positive future.
We encourage all young people who are looking for a new direction to contact our centres today.
Jacob Tas, Chief Executive said:
“I am immensely proud of the achievement of all Nacro learners in 2016. Their results are not often shouted about and yet the huge steps young people have taken with us are momentous and deserve every credit we can give.
“It is vitally important that young people are given access to education that is best suited to them. All young people are capable of achieving in life but some may not believe they can, or do not know what they want to do after school.
“At Nacro we know that school or a large college doesn’t always work for some people. We are all different. People learn in different ways, and will have different talents and goals in life.”
