We are thrilled and incredibly proud to receive the Third Sector Awards’ High Commendation (runner-up) for Best Charity Film for our #CellStreetRepeat at Christmas film.
We had stiff competition from the other shortlisted charities; PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide (the worthy winner), Tommy’s, Guide Dogs, The Ben Kinsella Trust, Kidney Care UK, STAMMA – British Stammering Association and Royal Trinity Hospice.
About the film
The aim of the film was to raise awareness of our campaign with a call-to-action to share and sign our petition: to support our call for Government commitment that all prison-leavers have somewhere to live on release, followed by support to find stable long-term move on accommodation.
We wanted to evidence what Christmas is like when your life looks nothing like a John Lewis ad.

Impact
We’re all thrilled that shortly after the video’s release, and after months of our #CellStreetRepeat campaigning, the Government released a Prisons Strategy White Paper promising to work on our campaign matter and improve the lives of prisoners potentially leaving homeless. They have now committed to providing temporary accommodation for ALL prison leavers at risk of homelessness.
