We need a Pupil Premium Plus, a specific pot of funding for disadvantaged pupils in education or training, aged 16-19. This is one of the main calls in our Learn Without Limits campaign.
It goes without saying that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on apprenticeships. While the pandemic did not create inequalities, it has certainly exacerbated them.
After the pandemic, there is a real risk of a long-term negative impact on the educational outcomes for the disadvantaged, those struggling with education, and those with additional needs.
