Summary
Our response to this call for evidence is based on the experiences of our staff and the young people they support. We have also used (and would refer the Commission to) research findings from Beyond Youth Custody (BYC) which was a six-year England-wide learning and awareness programme funded by the Big Lottery Fund as part of the Youth in Focus (YIF) initiative. . Nacro is a member of the Alliance for Youth Justice (AYJ), and we endorse the views set out in their response to this call for evidence.
